What it is

EV Deal Check helps people in the US and the UK judge a used electric car's battery before they buy. Type in the car, its price and its mileage, and the tools show the battery's likely health, range now and in winter, battery life left, replacement cost and warranty cover, with a good / fair / bad verdict on battery value.

It checks battery value, not whether the price is fair for the market. How the verdict works.

Why trust it

• Every figure links to its source and the date we checked it.
• Figures we worked out ourselves, or borrowed from a similar car, are marked "estimate", with how we got them.
• Missing figures are shown as gaps. We do not fill them with guesses.
• No car dealer, car maker or seller pays for a verdict, and none can change one.

How it is paid for

The site is free. We plan to show ads, and to link to some services, such as vehicle history checks, that pay us if you buy. Each paid link will say so right next to it. Paid links never change a verdict.

Mistakes

If a figure is wrong or out of date, please tell us, ideally with a link to a better source. We check it, fix the data and update the checked date.
